Memorable Moments on Film Part 2

Monday, May 23, 2016

Last year during vacation I was obsessed with my heart shaped sunglasses!
My first photoshoot and possibly my first light burn.
Stray cat sleeping under the sun.
Beautiful rose in a hotel lobby.
Went to Yıldız Park a few years ago with my friends and came home with a bunch of beautiful photos that we took at an abandoned cafe.
Saw this lantern at Soğukçeşme St. which is a small street with lots of historic houses. The street is closed now and all the houses are being renewed which is sad because I feel like the "historic" feeling is now lost forever.
My first photoshoot was with my friend Birgül. I love how vibrant the colors of this photo are!
A photo of old buildings taken from Valide Han.
One of favorites from my Fragile Flower series. I have shared the entire series on the blog before so if you want to see them click HERE.
Close up of a cherry. Have I told you how much I love blurry backgrounds? Also, don't mind my child hands I'm just a really small 23 year old hehe.
I'm probably the worst blogger at the moment. I haven't been doing anything blog related in maybe more than a month. Things actually started to slow down before then but even then I had time to join Twitter chats but this past month I didn't have time to do anything. I was spending my days helping my mom at her work place and had so much to do on the weekends that I would go out of the house in the morning and return after it was dark so I had no time to take proper photos. Now, there has been a bigger change in my life. I started working at a new place and I am trying to get used to my new life. Things are slowly coming together but I want things to speed up. Therefore I decided to use this time I have to share some more film photos with you guys! I hope you love them as much as I do <3

P.S. Thank you for always being patient with me and leaving lovely comments. I am so grateful for every single one of them because they put a huge smile on my face!

Photo an Hour // Yummy Cheesecake 09.04.2016

Tuesday, April 26, 2016

09:30 / Ever wonder what Turkish people eat for breakfast? This is it.
10:30 / On the road to Yıldız Park.
11:30 / Took a bunch of photos of tulips but this one is my fave.
12:30 / Saw this mannequin at the park and it kind of creeped us out from afar.
13:30 / We left the park and decided to go eat cheesecake at one of my fave cafes.
14:30 / The cafe we always go to for cheesecake is Pan. I'm actually not a huge fan of cheesecake but I can never go to this place and not order a slice. We also tried their lemonade and it was so huge we couldn't finish it but it was amazing, very refreshing.
16:30 / We left the cafe because we didn't realize how late it had gotten and we knew we would be stuck in traffic for a long time. While walking to the car I saw this colorful street.
18:30 / Took this photo while we were stuck in traffic.
19:30 / It took us a bit more than 2 hours to get home which is too much considering it only would've taken half of that time if there was no traffic. I immediatly threw myself to bed after putting on some comfy clothes.

If you're wondering why I kept using plural is because I spent the day with my sister. It was a lovely day but it's always tiring when we have to spend so much time on the road which is why I stopped taking photos after the last one. Istanbul is just way too crowded for us sometimes. Hope you enjoyed this post and sorry for not being active on here I'm just not very inspired :( x

Memorable Moments on Film

Sunday, April 17, 2016

A beautiful pink sunset from last summer.
Last minute photo of strangers at Valide Han.
My heart shaped sunglasses in the summer looked really pretty with the sunset.
An abandoned cafe in the park and good company result in lovely photos like this.
Book full of pressed plants is probably the cutest thing to photograph.
Spending the day with a close friend and finding things outside for props resulted in this photo.
Winter at university always looked good. I miss that place, now that I'm not there anymore.
I will forever love this photo of the parrot. The bokeh and the colors look amazing to me.
Unexpected things happen with film. This one was unexpected with its colors and the shadows.
My first roll of film on Smena 8m. My floral backpack looked really cute in that all white hotel room.
Really love the bokeh and the summer feeling of this photo.
Although it's blurry this photo is colorful enough to make up for it.
I've spent quite some time looking through all of my photos to choose my favorites. There was so many to choose from and I definitely have more I want to share but I thought I'd save some for another day. I didn't mean for it to take this long to choose photos and write this blog post but I had no time to properly finish it until now. I might have shared some of these before but I haven't really checked which ones they might be. All of these have been taken in the course of 4 years but I have no idea of their exact dates which is something I probably should have kept track of but I guess I'll just have to keep that in mind in the future. Hope you enjoyed this post because I really enjoyed taking a short trip down memory lane ♡

Istanbul Is A Photographers Dream

Sunday, March 20, 2016

Hello everybody! I know I'm back with another photography post but I just have so many to share from last week. I had a job interview on Wednesday and I knew I would hate myself if I didn't take my camera with me. The interview was on the other side of Istanbul about 2,5 hours away from home so while I went to the Asian side I definitely had a bit of exploring in mind. I have lived in the European side my entire life so it has always been hard for me to go across the Bosphorus knowing I would be letting go many hours of my life to traffic. So I would be honest if I said I probably only went about 10 times in my life but who's counting anyway. Everytime that I do happen to go I always try to make the best of it.

After the interview I headed to Üsküdar to have late breakfast and while I sat there I made some friends with the seagulls that were basically just sitting on the edge of the cafe I was eating at and staring at me. After having my breakfast I headed to Kuzguncuk which is a lovely neighborhood in Üsküdar. I just walked around the streets and took photos of the lovely houses. After that I found myself at the coast looking over to the Bosphorus bridge. I had a bagel with me so I threw some at the birds and took some photos of them flying towards the bridge. It was a calm and relaxing moment that made me appreciate life even more than I already do.

From there I took a bus to Kadıköy. I got some really amazing photos there of the boats and birds flying above and went through cute alleys to find somewhere to get a cup of tea. After that I hopped on to the ferry and crossed to the European side. From there I headed to Balat which is another neighborhood with colorful houses, narrow streets and cute shops. I could only stay there for a short time beacuse I hadn't realized how cold it got and it had been a long day so I decided to head back home. I did manage to get a few photos though so it wasn't all for nothing.

♡ Hope you enjoyed this post! See you next time ♡

Belgrad Forest in Fog

Friday, March 11, 2016

Hello everybody! I finally had the time to sit down and edit these photos I took at the forest a week ago. It was hard to wake up that morning but I knew I had to get moving when I saw that it was foggy. Fog gives a lot of depth to a photo and I knew if we went to the forest we would get some great shots. My mom and I bought baugettes (and other ingredients) so we could make sandwiches when we got to the forest and hit the road. Once we got there we made and ate our breakfast and started exploring. The weather was crisp and the forest was quiet and peaceful. It actually took my breath away because it was incredible to feel the nature when you're always surrounded by the city. We went through places we've never been to before and worried that our car might get stuck in mud and we would have to be rescued. It was quite an adventure but all worth it. After exploring the quiter parts of the forest we drove up to where people usually go to walk. We joined the crowd and walked 7 km and returned home. We were quite tired but it was a great end to the weekend!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Tell me in the comments which photo you like best <3
